Diamondbacks’ future in Phoenix secured!
The state legislature and the Governor came together in 2025 to pass a pivotal piece of legislation to modernize Chase Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks.
The publicly-owned Chase Field opened in 1998 and has never undergone a major renovation, and the aging infrastructure threatens its long-term viability. The Diamondbacks have already spent millions on improvements such as a new roof and LED lighting, but a full-scale modernization required a public-private partnership.
The solution provided a responsible, long-term path for keeping the Diamondbacks in downtown Phoenix. It will help renovate a deteriorating public asset while retaining a critical economic driver that contributes millions in local revenue and plays a key role in shaping the identity of the state.
Community Partner
The Dbacks are on track to surpass $100 million in charitable giving, putting them in the top three of all MLB teams.
They have built 45 baseball and softball fields across Arizona, and provide baseball and softball participants with jerseys and caps.
Economic Driver
Chase Field has generated $5.4 billion in GDP for the State of Arizona.
81 home games a year bring over 2 million people downtown during the hottest months, fueling small businesses.
